What is LEAHI?
LEAHI is a hui (group) of Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOLs) located both here in Hawaii and abroad. We enjoy creative building and modeling with LEGO bricks and working to promote interest in LEGO products within the community, both locally and on the internet.
Our members are fans of LEGO – creators, collectors, artists, and pioneers in creating things using LEGO elements. We share our enjoyment of LEGO with the public via displays and events held periodically each year. We are also a Recognized LEGO User Group (RLUG), celebrating 23 years of LEGO building in Hawaii!
LEAHI has also produced a number of distinguished LEGO builders, whose works are known worldwide and have been exhibited at major LEGO fan conventions as well as in The LEGO House in Billund, Denmark (LEGO Group Headquarters).
When did LEAHI get started?
LEAHI began in 2003 by local Adult Fans of LEGO who decided to share their interests as a group – forming the very first LEGO User Group (LUG) in Hawaii. Since then, our hui has grown and allows us to share our common interests in LEGO products and to participate in community events and displays.
Doesn’t LEAHI mean something in the Hawaiian Language (ʻŌlelo)?
Yes. Besides being the name of our group, Leahi is also the modern Hawaiian name for Diamond Head, the famous O’ahu landmark which overlooks Waikiki. This volcanic crater is also known as Kaimana Hila.

How do I find a LEAHI member at our event?
Besides usually being behind our LEGO displays, look for someone wearing a LEAHI club t-shirt, that bears our club name and logo. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

How do I join LEAHI?
If you have a strong passion for LEGO products, and are a current or former resident of Hawaii, you are welcomed to apply for membership in LEAHI. We celebrate creativity, community, and respect without discrimination. Please send an email to leahiclub@gmail.com, or click on the link below.
Note: We are an adult-focused group, but we do welcome mature teenage (13 and over) fans of LEGO who are able to demonstrate exceptional building skills. All non-adult LEAHI members will require onsite adult (e.g. a parent or legal guardian) supervision at all times, and to accompany them to all LEAHI meetings, events, etc.
Neighbor island members are welcome to participate via the Internet (or Oahu visits).
